July 8, 2017 – Manila, Philippines

RCG was a major sponsor and participant in the AMCHAM Foundation Charity Outreach Program for the Mangyans and Indigenous people of Puerto Galera, Mindoro. The event was attended by over 600 children, women, and families and took place on the grounds of the Sabang Elementary School. The purpose of the activity is to reach out to the Mangyans and provide basic necessities for everyday use. The event provided legal aid, family planning education, maternity ultrasounds & check-ups, feeding program, gift giving of clothing and toys and of course a Jollibee Party for all the kids, including a visit from the Jollibee “Bee” in person. For the majority of the kids, this was the first time they had ever eaten fast food. They were also given medicines, groceries, clothing, toys, school supplies and vitamins. Everybody ended up with a goody bag full of loot. Dr. Patricia Kho took time out of her weekend to travel to Puerto Galera with her portable ultrasound and was a big hit during both her presentations and the one-on-one medical checkups. RCG was represented by Rick McGonegal and Matt Wright, who spent most of the afternoon handing out rice, canned goods, and other groceries items to over 500 recipients. In addition to a financial contribution from the company, RCG staff had spent two weeks prior to the event collecting clean used clothing and toys which were also handed out to deserving families. The event was organized by the Professional Women of the American Chamber of Commerce and was supported by the Chamber itself who handled all the logistics and planning. Major sponsors of the event in addition to RCG were DSM Manila, PMFTC, Inc., CalEnergy, Eastern Communications, AAADS, Farm Masters Realty, Inc., Ms. Analyn Hepper, Mr. & Mrs. Belinda Racela and Dr. Patricia Kho of Makati Medical Center. “These outreach events provide RCG and its staff an opportunity to give back to some of the less fortunate members of society, and is just one of numerous CSR activities we support during the year,” said Dr. McGonegal, Managing Director, RCG IT Philippines. “As a relative new comer to the Philippines, it is encouraging to see that the Mangyans are being integrated into the school system, and society, through events like this,” said Matt Wright, VP of Delivery, RCG IT Philippines.
