Advanced Analytics Planning

Analytic planning has two components. The first is advanced analytic capabilities: technologies and skills that an organization will need to apply inferential/predictive, real-time data stream, text, and other advanced analytic planning and techniques needed to address its analytic areas of opportunity. The second is the skills, responsibilities, and organization required to develop an operational plan of action based on results of advanced analytic analyses performed. After all, an analysis on its own won't have a business impact; operational business action is required.

The biggest challenge to success with data and analytics, including advanced analytics & insight, is cultural. Planning must take this into account and work with organizational leadership to develop a framework for implementing operational action on analytic results. Value realization from analytics will not happen without this kind of planning and a roadmap to successful implementation of business insights and an advanced analytics capability.
